We offer off-grid solar powered solutions to areas without grid access, where carbon intense energy sources are often used for energy generation. We provide a plug-an-play solution, consisting of solar panels, inverter and battery station for the rural population to use directly in their homes for electricity output. The use and payment of the electricity is managed via mobile phone application, allowing the rural population for self-management and ownership of their activities.

Globally, there is a need for fast reduction of CO2 emissions, especially towards the short term 2035 stance. The ones emitting CO2 are not necessarily the ones impacted by climate change. The regions most impacted by climate change are the developing regions, like Africa.
The climate change suffocates the soil in these regions due to increased temperatures and offset water scarcity. Moreover the population has limited options for income generation, which leaves large regions with poor living conditions. In Sub-Saharan Africa, an estimated 600 mio. people live in rural areas where this applies.
One major contributor to CO2 emissions in these areas is the use of charcoal, wood, gas and petroleum for energy creation. Majority in rural Africa spends substantial efforts and time to establish e.g. a wood fired energy source for cooking. This has a tremendous impact on deforestation and subsequent CO2 impact and biodiversity, not to mention the health impacts induced by charcoal, wood etc. fired energy sources.
Moreover, in these rural areas production and business based income generation is often limited due to lack of energy supply.
By providing off-grid solar powered electricity to rural villages in developing countries, the use of green electricity in rural areas increases, providing opportunities for clean cooking, small productions/businesses, subsequently better living conditions. The impact will be substantial CO2 reductions, nature conservations, health improvements, better use of time to mention a few of the most important.
The solution is a closed system with solar panels linked to an inverter. The electricity generated will be stored in lithium batteries in an attached heat protected, safe cupboard. Each lithium battery is portable in a specially designed “voltboks”, allowing the people in the village to walk the battery to their cottage for electricity supply. The voltboks has electricity outputs that can be directly attached to e.g. cooking equipment, sewing machine, charger etc. The people of the village gain access to the electricity via a mobile phone payment platform.
